Camp Lemonnier is a U.S. Navy–led installation operated under the authority of Commander, Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central, via U.S. Naval Forces Africa and the Commander, Navy Installations Command.
The base provides, operates, and sustains superior services in support of combat readiness, security operations, and regional engagement. It plays a key role in enabling U.S. and allied operations across the Horn of Africa, while fostering positive diplomatic and defense relationships with African nations.
Camp Lemonnier supports approximately 4,000 U.S. and allied military and civilian personnel, along with U.S. Department of Defense contractors, and provides employment for nearly 1,000 local and third-country nationals.
